Smoke Alarm Installation & Safety Program in Dripping Springs

A working smoke alarm can mean the difference between safety and tragedy.

For many seniors aging in place, maintaining or installing smoke alarms isn’t always easy—but it’s essential. This program helps ensure every home is properly equipped and protected.

The Friends Foundation partners with North Hays County Fire & Rescue to provide in-home visits for seniors in the Dripping Springs area.  This collaboration brings trained professionals directly into homes to ensure safety measures are in place and functioning properly.

During each visit, firefighters will:

• Check existing smoke alarms for proper operation

• Install new smoke alarms where needed

• Replace batteries in working units

• Ensure proper placement throughout the home

​

This service is provided at no cost to qualifying seniors in the Dripping Springs area.
