Theresa Tod

Theresa Tod brings decades of nonprofit leadership, a deep commitment to service, and a passion for helping others to her role on The Friends Foundation board. She was inspired to join after seeing the meaningful impact the organization has on the local community and recognizing an opportunity to contribute her experience to further its mission.
With a career spanning more than 30 years in social work and nonprofit organizations, Theresa offers extensive expertise in program management, nonprofit governance, and advocacy. She has worked across Texas to support services for vulnerable youth and families, including managing training initiatives and championing funding and policy improvements at the legislative level. In addition to her professional background, she contributes strong writing and organizational skills to support the Foundation’s efforts.
After retiring and navigating elder care within her own family, Theresa’s focus naturally shifted toward serving the senior population. That journey led her to The Friends Foundation, where she found a meaningful way to continue making a difference.
Theresa is passionate about ensuring the community understands that The Friends Foundation is here to help. Many services, including the Our Daily Bread meal delivery program and Lifeline medical alert services, are available without financial barriers. She also emphasizes that donations go directly to those in need, as the organization operates with virtually no overhead—making every contribution impactful.
